Who we are?

The Misdiagnosis Association and Research Institute (MARI)

is an international, non-profit organization that was first known as the Misdiagnosis Association and Society. This innovative and fast-growing organization started off mainly focused on creating the most comprehensive database for misdiagnosed and error-in-medicine cases. This includes collaborations with physicians, health organizations, universities, clinics, and professors from all around the world.
MARI | Misdiagnosis Association

A world without any error in medicine and healthcare

The Misdiagnosis Association became MARI to accommodate its fast growth and widening of breadth. MARI was founded in the United States by Dr. Pooya Khan Mohammed Beigi, who only started off with a small team of physicians and graduate students with the initial focus surrounding misdiagnosis and error in treatment.

MARI’s Start

MARI has expanded internationally with offices and team members all around the world. This association is always expanding and has not stopped growing since it first began. MARI is in the process of creating multiple associations within MARI responsible for different areas of expertise. Each of these entities has its own missions and goals separate from MARI.
Our current affiliations include, but are not limited to MARI Pharmaceuticals, MARI Education, MARI Business, MARI IT, MARI Innovation and Technology, MARI Nutrition, and MARI Law. More entities are expected to come in the near future.

MARI has published more than 198 scientific papers/articles and various textbooks touching on subjects such as acrodermatitis enteropathica. mycosis fungoides, pemphigus vulgaris, psoriasis, vitiligo, alopecia areata, and so on.

Our Goal

Our branches, while separate, are interconnected and complement each other towards our end goal which is a world without any error in medicine and healthcare.
